The Lucca Chocolate Birthday Cake

Number 1 is 6 so Pink Mister made a towering layered chocolate birthday cake. So slithery and slick with chocolate cream and raspberry jam were the layers that it had to be skewered with hat pin like long cocktail sticks to stop it from toppling. Eventually the chocolate icing carapace set hard and that held it together instead. Cut into it and it is beautiful: alternating chocolate and vanilla sponge layers like the churches in Tuscany.
